A 60 hour Thai yoga massage training, divided into four weekends.
Thai Massage has its roots in India as a healing technique and for 2,500 years has been proving its healing properties in the traditional way or by allowing it to be combined with modern western techniques. Thai Massage is being practiced on a special mat on the floor allowing the body’s connection with the earth. It is based on gentle pressures and stretches, relaxing rhythmic movements and spiral positions that help orthosomy and overall tissue movement.
The seminar introduces three branches of traditional Thai Massage through a structure based on play and curiosity about motion. During these four days, basic tools of Thai Yoga massage, Thai Oil massage, Osteo-Thai are taught, as well as the Sen energy lines that run throughout the body and are responsible for the proper energy flow. Also, focus is given on basic anatomy knowledge, on information about the Fascia, on exercises to release the spine through breathing, as well as on the need to practice consciously. The need of basic Anatomy and Pathology knowledge gives the therapist supplies to meet the maximum needs of a patient. At the same time, students learn meditation techniques, proper use of their bodies during therapy as well as ways of deep concentration and connection of breathing with their movement.
During the first two weekends (30 hours) no previous knowledge on Thai or any other type of massage is required. Basic techniques for the whole body will be taught and information will be given to start one’s first steps in this magical ancient healing art.
During the next two weekends (30 hours), students become familiar with more sophisticated thai massage techniques, and more emphasis is given on practice itself.
Between the first and second part, a specific number of thai massage practices requested by the teachers should be completed. This process aims to involve students as much as possible with Thai Massage and their better understanding of the techniques. In order for students to participate in this second part, the attendance of the first part is a prerequisite. The certification of 60 hours requires a number of requested practices and the adequacy of a treatment given under our supervision after the completion of the seminar.
→ Two fully updated manuals will be given to every participant of the training.
→ A Certification of Attendance will be given to those participating in the first 30 hour training.
→ The ITM Level 1 Certification will be awarded after the completion of the full 60 hour training.
